Welcome to Visual Arts @ Muliyan
Visual Art – Term 1, 2020
Hi all, and welcome to your Visual Art page for Term 1, 2020 at Muliyan. Over the course of the term you will be exploring art works from all over the world, what art is and why it’s important to us all (as well as like creating heaps of stuff hey…). Please remember to look for the Visual Art tag in the tag cloud that will assist in directing you to all Visual Art related information and content. This page is dedicated to providing you with assessment information related to your visual art learning.
Ok, first things first, lets make some learning intentions clear for this Term…who doesn’t love some learning intentions?? You will find your achievement standards below – the achievement standards are what you will be assessed on and reported on. How you meet a standard and what this work looks like is guided by you and your passions – no two pieces of work are the same, just as none of you are identical. So, this semester we will be considering the following;
Achievement Standards (Yr 9 & 10)
By the end of Year 10, students evaluate how representations communicate artistic intentions in artworks they make and view. They evaluate artworks and displays from different cultures, times and places. They analyse connections between visual conventions, practices and viewpoints that represent their own and others’ ideas. They identify influences of other artists on their own artworks.
Students manipulate materials, techniques and processes to develop and refine techniques and processes to represent ideas and subject matter in their artworks.
